On Monday, May 26, 2026, River Grove held its second annual Memorial Day ceremony in front of the Veterans Memorial at 8678 West Grand Avenue.  It was a beautiful and moving ceremony, and as always, the River Grove Lions Club was well represented.  Lions Mike Warchol, Mayor Dave Guerin, and Jack Ross were key speakers, along with other veterans, family and community members in attendance.

Notably, Lion Mike Warchol was a driving force in bringing the idea for the beautiful set of monuments to all branches of service to fruition, and Lion Jack Ross was a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient. While Memorial Day is set aside as a day to honor those who did not return home, it is also important to thank those who are still with us for their service to our country and our freedoms, and support them however we can.

Many thanks to all who came out and attended the Memorial Day ceremony.
